Camera Finder
Use the Camera Finder Application to find and attached NEC Supported Cameras to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud or BLUE Server Accounts.
Application Information
- Camera Finder is supported on Windows Operating systems
- Device Discovery – Camera Finder uses a network device discovery protocol to find NEC compliant cameras on your network
- Discovery Protocols can be blocked by network equipment (routers, firewalls and PC anti-virus applications)
- Your PC must be on the same local network (LAN Segment) as the cameras.
- Disable your PC’s WiFi connection for best results before starting the application.
- Use your PC’s local ethernet connection, verify your have LAN connectivity and can ping a IP Address of a local camera
Download Application
- Camera Finder is supported on Windows machines
- Login to a End User Account on UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR
- Select “Add a New Camera”

- Select “Download Windows Camera Finder Tool” and the down load process will start

Install Camera Finder
- Find the location where you downloaded the Camera Finder Application from Download Application Step

- Right Click on the Downloaded File and select Open or Run as Administrator

- The downloaded application file is auto-executable and will take a minute to launch
Login
- Launch the Camera Finder Tool – Find the Icon on your PC Desktop

- Login to the User Account that you want to attached your cameras. (This will be the email and password that was used to create the user account for UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR)

Connection Method
After your are logged into your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR User Account you will have 2 options to connect cameras to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account:
- BLUE Server Cloud Gateway – Use this method if you are installing the BLUE Server Gateway on the local LAN
- UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Direct Connect – Use this method if you are connecting cameras directly to UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud. These will be cameras listed in the Supported Camera List
Camera Direct Connection
Select the Direct Connection Method
- The Camera Finder application will search your local LAN network that your PC is connected to.
- Supported cameras on your local LAN will be displayed in the camera viewer (if no cameras are displayed you need to check you PC’s network settings, firewall and anti-virus settings)
- The camera search process can take a few seconds depending on network conditions
- You can select the “refresh” button to start the search process again
- If you do not get any results you can try the “Manual” search option below in step #7
- If your PC is using WiFi to connect to the network you might not be able to see Cameras on the physical LAN due to network firewall settings. I is suggested to connect your PC to the local LAN via ethernet connection.
- Select the camera that you would like to add to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account.

- Add a Camera Name: this can be any name that will help you identify the camera in your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Dashboard
- Enter the Camera User Name and Password (consult the camera manufacture manual or use the user name and password that you can log directly into the camera)

- Select Connect
- The Camera Finder will now start the process of connecting the camera to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account
- After a secure token and firmware are updated on your camera you will see a Successful Status and a LIVE Camera View

- Select Done to return to the Camera Search screen. You can now repeat the above steps to add another camera
- Manual Connect – if you do not see any camera results from the auto-search method – select the Manual search option
- Select Manual

- Enter the IP Address, Camera User Name and Password
- Select Connect

BLUE Server Connection
Select the BLUE Server Cloud Gateway 
- This method is only used if you are installing the BLUE Server Application on the local network
- The Camera Finder application will search your local LAN network that your PC is connected to.
- The BLUE Server’s on your local LAN will be displayed in the server viewer (if no BLUE Servers are displayed you need to check you PC’s network settings, firewall and anti-virus settings)
- The server search process can take a few seconds depending on network conditions
- Use can select the “refresh” button to start the search process again
- If you do not get any results you can try the “Manual” search option below in step #8
- Select the server that you would like to add to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account.
- Enter the Server User Name and Password and select connect:
User: admin
Password: admin

Add Cameras to your BLUE Server
- After your BLUE is attached to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account you can add cameras to the BLUE Server
- The Camera Finder application will search the local LAN network that your BLUE Server is connected to.
- NEC Supported cameras on your local LAN will be displayed in the camera viewer (if no cameras are displayed you need to check you PC’s network settings, firewall and anti-virus settings)
- The camera search process can take a few seconds depending on network conditions
- You can select the “refresh” button to start the search process again
- If you do not get any results you can try the “Manual” search option below in step #8
- Select the camera that you would like to add to your BLUE Server.
- Add a Camera Name: this can be any name that will help you identify the camera in your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Dashboard
- Enter the Camera User Name and Password (consult the camera manufacture manual or use the user name and password that you can log directly into the camera)

- Select Connect
- The Camera Finder will now start the process of connecting the camera to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account

- Manual Connect – if you do not see any camera results from the auto-search method – select the Manual search option
- Select Manual

- Enter the IP Address, Camera User Name and Password
- Select Connect

You can now view your Server from your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Dashboard (BLUE Servers will have a setting icon displayed)
Notes:
- BLUE Server’s attached to your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Cloud Account will be show with a setting icon next to the server name
- Select the Setting Icon to log directly into the remote BLUE Server
- Unique Server Name can be configured in Server Settings. This name will be used for Display purpose in your UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR Dashboard

Camera Finder Logs
If you are getting errors connecting a camera using the Camera Finder Application you might need to send us logs. 2 log files are located here: (Log File names are “main” & “renderer”

** Replace “UserName” with the name associated with your individual PC or Login.
